‘Giant Mistake’ in a bottle!

Giant Mistake Wine BottleKahn Morbee (The Parlotones front man) has always wanted to someday make his own wine.

Rohan Strydom (acompanycalledit.com) read about this and saw an opportunity to turn a dream into an exciting new ground breaking product. He introduced the idea to ‘Hands on Wine’, all parties met and the initial excitement led to some ‘serious wheels being put in motion’. Allan Mullins (Cape Wine Master) and Pieter Walser (blankbottle.co.za) were commissioned to help the band find some of the absolute best pockets of wine in the Cape and thanks to the expertise of winemakers Hugo Truter and Pieter-Neil Rossouw Giant Mistake in a bottle was born!

Much like a band comes together to create something greater than the individual parts, this wine is a blend of 4 cultivars which together creates something extraordinary. The focus in making the wine is on quality and the product expected to be available, on Woolworth’s shelves, in September.

“I feel that wine is often associated with romance and the romanticism in The Parlotones lyrics makes this combination ideal. I would describe ‘Giant Mistake’ as a wine where sophistication meets creativity.” Kahn Morbee

The official launch took place at the Cape Grace Hotel in Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront on Wednesday 16 September 2009. The wine world got a taste of rock and roll as media from both industries celebrated the release of this devilishly gorgeous temptress that is Giant Mistake.
