Push Me To The Floor 2010
This lively white is in perfect harmony with The Parlotones’ music. It stands out from the rest with an intriguing difference yet with perfect balance. It has an “edge” which makes it intriguing and somewhat exotic but it will appeal to everyone, from the casual quaffer to the connoisseur.
As Kahn said “its bursting with tropical fruit, plump pear, luscious litchi and hints of lime. It is a medley of fruit sprinkled with exotic spices and a subtle vanilla scent”.
The palate is zippy and fresh with beautifully balanced fruit and acidity. It certainly is a wine for happy, romantic occasions. It has such a personality that it will enliven any occasion and leave everybody searching for the next bottle.
WHO: Winemakers Hugo Truter and Pieter-Neil, wine entrepreneur Pieter Walser and Woolworths Wine Selector Allan Mullins selected and prepared the base wines. The Parlotones (Kahn , Neil, Paul, Glenn) put together the blend.
WHERE: Blended at exotic locations. Bottled at Wamakersvallei Winery
MADE FROM: Chenin Blanc (60%), Chardonnay (20%), Gewurztraminer(15%) and Viognier (5%)
HOW: The basis of the blend is Chenin Blanc from old bush vines, a small portion of which is wood matured. To add a range of flavours, a different texture and more complexity other cultivars were blended with the Chenin Blanc. The wood matured Chardonnay to add a fuller body and the Gewürztraminer and Viognier to add the lavish fruit and spiciness.
ENJOY WITH: A wide range of foods including all seafood and white meats, but with its light spiciness and lavish fruit it would be a particular treat with lightly spiced Asian dishes.
